We are from the General Medical Council. The GMC helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met. Today we are here to talk to you about Welcome to UK practice. Welcome to UK practice is our free workshop designed to support doctors new to the UK. We know adapting to UK practice can be difficult for any doctor, regardless of where you’re from or how experienced you are. Book onto one of our workshops and you’ll get practical guidance around a series of real‑life ethical scenarios, including areas where you’ll encounter differences in the UK, such as consent, confidentiality, raising concerns, care for children and young people, and prescribing.
